Christmas Craft and Gift Fair November 22

Christmas Craft, Gift and Book Fair at St Giles School, Madeira Hill, Wrexham on 22nd November 11am - 3pm. All stalls themed for Christmas. On offer will be unique crafts and gifts to buy including ready made and make your own cards, unusual and unique gifts. Come and have a browse then relax and take a seat to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and some home-made cakes and biscuits.

Come along to our Christmas Craft and Gift Fair to find some beautiful, unique Christmas gifts. There will be handmade cards, gifts and jewellery and components and kits available for you to make your own. There will also be scrapbook items along with a whole host of other things.

Beautiful freshly made table decorations will be on display with orders being taken for collection nearer Christmas. These are very popular so make sure you get your order in early!

Thai Food - Thai national Maninda will share her skills with visitors, and will be selling authentic ingredients with tasty samples to try.

There will also be some gorgeous items on sale from the Body Shop, Avon and Usborne Books.

Homemade cakes will be available too – eat in or take away!

Signed copies of author Gradi O’Connell’s book ‘Sammy Bromburger and the Imaginary Land of the Murps’ will be available.

Santa will be arriving on his sleigh pulled by reindeer. Santa and his reindeer will be at the Grosvenor Garden Centre all weekend so come along and say hello to Rudolph and his friends! At the Grosvenor Garden Centre, Wrexham Rd, Near Chester.

A Country Christmas at Chirk Castle, December 6 & 7

Experience a truly home spun Christmas at Chirk Castle’s Home Farm. Visit Father Christmas in his Woodland Grotto and see where his elves make all the toys. Browse the craft and food stalls, sample festive fare such as mulled wine and roast chestnuts, or join in the ‘hands on’ activities suitable for all the family. Hope House Santa Fun Run, December 7

Hope House Children’s Hospices are proud to announce a Santa Fun Run at Alyn Waters Country Park on Sunday 7 December 2008 at 2pm. We are looking for 250 Santa’s to pull on their suits and take the challenge of the one mile course.

It costs just £12.50 to enter which includes a Santa Suit and a medal for everyone who completes the race. We also hope that every runner (or walker) will raise at least £20 in sponsorship to help us continue providing care to local terminally ill children and support to their families.

The top retail jeweller Clogau Gold is generously sponsoring the 2008 Hope House Children’s Hospices Santa Fun Runs in a bid to raise £100,000 for Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy, that provide care and support for terminally-ill local children and their families.

The sponsorship from Clogau Gold – whose mine is famous for providing the Welsh gold for wedding rings worn by The Queen and Princess Diana - has covered the costs of staging the events.

Clogau Gold Managing Director Ben Roberts said: “Ty Gobaith and Hope House hospices both do marvellous work for those who need it most, and to be able to support them is a great privilege.

The Wrexham event is the third to be added to the charity’s successful Santa Run calendar, with £75,000 being raised in 2007 at the runs in Oswestry and Llandudno
